The CAUTION - NEWLY LICENSED CAR MAGNET was developed to protect your teen’s life. By identifying your new driver as “newly licensed” (learner’s permit or 1st year driver), surrounding motorists are urged to use patience, caution, and courtesy when driving in their vicinity. PROTECT YOUR TEEN, YOURSELF and OTHER MOTORISTS.

The Caution - Newly Licensed Car Magnet Campaign

Our campaign to identify Newly Licensed Drivers is now 4 years old. What began as Moms trying to protect their kids in Kennesaw, Ga. has now progressed to a National Effort with the media help of Reader’s Digest, the Atlanta Constitution Newspaper,The Fox and Friends T.V. Show, the MomLogic.com front page article , the AOL.com. front page news and Radio Talk shows around the country. One thing is certain- we have the support of you- the parents of “permit ” and 1st year drivers.
I’ve really enjoy talking  to you parents  either by phone or email and sharing your personal experiences. You asked for a support group- now you have it. Share your stories with others- know you are not alone.  If possible - add some humor- we all have teenagers and we need it!!! I’ll start it off - but I need you to post  your comments!
My son got his permit on the first day it’s ever really  snowed in Georgia! I had previously  promised him he could drive home from the DMV-( DDS in Ga.) Okay, so I broke my first promise! I called his Dad at work and made him rush home- Donnie was ready to drive- it was his 15th birthday, it’s snowing - and you need to take him out on the road- now! This teen was like attached to the road and loved being behind the wheel. After that first day, he would awake whenever he heard the jingle of the  car keys and insist on driving me. I was a wreck- Please let me just drive myself to the grocery store!! I need to relax!!
I felt like an addict- I would awake early and sneak out of the house- (oh so quitely opening the garage door) so I could drive myself around on my errands-  only to find him chasing me down the street - “Mom, I’ll drive you!”
